Premier Medical had its beginnings in 1981 and has since grown to be
one of the most respected physician practices in Charlotte County. Our
specialty is Internal Medicine, and we provide comprehensive care for
patients sixteen and older. As Board Certified Internists, we are trained
and experienced in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of virtually all
of the medical conditions which may arise from late adolescence through
the geriatric years. At the Heron Creek Family Practice location, school aged
children, as well as their parents, are welcome in the practice.
Our goals are to detect symptoms and further analyze the anatomy and
systems before they lead to serious illness such as heart attack and
stroke. We emphasize early detection of potentially curable disease such
as breast, colon, and prostate cancer. For your continuing good health, we
provide individualized instruction and guidance.
Many patients come to us with high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol,
and diabetes. We treat those as well as complex conditons such as
asthma, emphysema, heart disease, and congestive heart failure.
Should we diagnose a problem for which consultation with a sub-specialist
or surgeon is indicated, we will coordinate your referral to those who we’ve
known and trusted throughout the years.
And if hospitalization becomes necessary, take comfort in that we can
coordinate your care at both Fawcett Memorial Hospital and Peace River
Medical Center. We work with other specialists and the hospital staff in the
Emergency Rooms and Intensive Care Units, and will provide care right in
your room as we review your progress and determine what steps will return
you to good health.
As caring physicians, we prefer to establish each new patient-physician
relationship by performing an initial comprehensive examination. However,
if you have an immediate non-emergency problem and do not have a local
doctor, we will treat the immediate problem and then setup future exam
dates for follow-up and a complete review of your health.
For your care and convenience, our office is well-equipped for a number of
diagnostic tests. We have a certified in-house lab, the most advanced bone
density scanning device in the county, on-staff registered physical
therapists, and perform tests including electrocardiograms (EKG’s), stress
tests, blood pressure and heart monitors, and carotid, heart, abdominal,
thyroid, and vascular ultrasound studies.
